I am an extremely bitter man.

Today, I am extremely bitter, hateful, and I feel like mowing down millions of innocent bystanders for no good reason.

Why? Because everyone who proclaims they are ‘otaku’ are nothing more than hypocritical bastards with no sense of self-respect or humility.

While I do find it extremely hypocritical of me to lash out at these people, it does feel like that is all I can do without resorting to killing one of them. Which is also an interesting notion, but illegal in all parts of the world.

These people don’t even understand the Japanese culture outside what they watch, which just also happens to be an inaccurate portrayal of the real Japanese culture, which is steeped in history, tradition, religion, and modernism.

And these people, be they the cream of the crop, businessmen who claim to have compassion for the animation industry in Japan, school dropouts who are forced to work part-time to feed their hobby, or even students who can’t seem to grasp the notion of taking control of their lives, the only thing they care about Japan is the fucking anime, anime merch, and the like. Even when they claim to support the industry, it isn’t about giving back to the creators, it’s about their own satisfaction. Do they even care about the fact that there was two axe murders in the span of a week? Does it even matter to them that their very hobby is about to be smacked with the biggest form of divine punishment since the Holocaust? No.

I’m not too surprised why people look at the community funny when it’s being mentioned. We don’t even project ourselves in the proper light to begin with. If we’re not seen as creepy mecha-loving perverts, it’s immature whiners who can’t even handle a minor setback positively. You don’t even have to look THAT far to notice that. (Odex, anyone?)

Frankly, I’m sick and tired of this ‘elitism’ we have in the ‘community’. It’s time for a change.

Drm note: I’m feeling extremely bitter and hostile today. I don’t mean to step on any toes, but I really feel like ranting and smashing toes with a sledgehammer.

That’s why I don’t call myself an ヲタク. And yeah, if you’re going to kill anybody please DO NOT do it with axe…

Maybe it’s not just the School Days / Nice Whatever affair you’re talking about, but wow, guys. I think Real Life Violence takes priority over getting your animu sometimes.

In other news: The deal between Geneon and ADV fell through. So now Geneon won’t be able to sell anime in the US for a while(?)

It’s all that “moe” and “loser male lead” crap, I tell ya!

But yeah. Give respect to the dead and don’t whine over the loss of a-nime.
