Let’s get a couple of things clear.

First of all, for anyone who hasn’t noticed, Bandai Entertainment and Bandai Visual are not two different companies. They belong to the same parent company, Namco Bandai Holdings, Limited. That means if someone inside Bandai Visual fucks up, someone in Namco Bandai Holdings, Limited, fucked up as well. So don’t pretend that Bandai Visual and Bandai Entertainment are two different companies when both companies belong to the same PARENT COMPANY. If Bandai Visual gets bad press, Namco Bandai Holdings, Limited, should also get some of the bad press. (Which also posits a suggestion: A total boycott on all things with the Bandai logo (and ideally, the Namco label as well.) on it. Model Kits, anything Gundam, Devil May Cry, you get the picture.)

Secondly, about Japan finally cracking down on doujin games, well, who didn’t see it coming? Patrick Macias (O HAY MR. MACIAS AGAIN) sure friggen did, albeit in a much different way. And for Pete’s sake, Shingo reported on the crackdowns as early as June (I think).  It’s only a matter of time before they turn Otakon, Animé Expo, or Comiket into bloodbaths. For Prohibition eventually leads into total murder. Since people are the root cause to his sticky wicket, why not listen to Nicollo Macheveli and put some fear into your customers, aka, killing all those who oppose your pricing schemes and decrees. Once they realize that copyright infringement leads to death, they’ll never use the Internet again. :V (Yes I know he only mentioned the elimination of all opposition, but when your opposition spans the globe, killing only the bare minimum gets tricky, and you either get creative or up the body count.)

Thirdly, I finished Utawarerumono, and it was awesome. A shame Leaf loev scifi too much to drop it from the game, tho :V. Also in no particular order:

It’s Summer, the season of- *16TONWEIGHTED!

Okay… Summer’s here and well, I haven’t had a lot of time to watch all my picks. Ah well. My thoughts on what I’ve watched so far:

NHK Ni Youkoso! : Has one of the best EDs ever, surpassing even that Haruhi ED. Which ED screams “THE SHOW HAS ENDED ALREADY, GO DO SOMETHING ELSE”? Only NHK Ni Youkoso!
Honey and Clover 2: Randomly hilarious and touching at the same time. God I wish I’d watched more than the first Episode of the First Season.

MOETOGI Jushi Akazukin: OMFG HAREM SHOW IN DISGUI- Errr….. MOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Though I wonder… can cute really propel a show? I mean, heck, Nanoha’s goddamned cute, but it had a well-written story to back it up, and erm, Puni Puni Poemi was mindnumbingly hilarious. I’m gonna wait and see.

Also, this just in: Touka is a Jedi. Chakuoro opened a dimensional portal and clocked Dave Chappelle. Yue has a gay laugh and I would invade his homeland and lay it to fire and sword just because his laugh is so goddamned gay. Oh, and Touka does not jump on Charkuoro all naked and horny and wanting some of that vaunted Chakuoro cock.

Well, we’ve gone through the Keiichi goes nucking futs and kills two perfectly fine girls instead of porking them arc, and the what happens if you trespass hallowed ground arc, and now, we’re nearing the end of the ZOMGCHILD ABUSE arc. Killer lolis count: 0. Dead Apostle Ancestor Count: Unknown (Possibly 2). Burial Agency Members Count: 1(If Chie-sensei ain’t Ciel, then Arcueid doesn’t exist, and Shiki “A CAT IS FINE TOO” Tohno didn’t pork that cat).

Instead of going “OMG SATOKO POOR GIRL” and how everyone’s favorite walking corpse grew some balls, I’m gonna talk about the Edgar Allan Poe homage it made.

While it may be fun disproving lolikitsune’s crazy theory, I think there may be some truth to it. Though that’s another post for another time. I’m assuming there is something supernaturally wrong with Hinamizawa but it does not manifest itself yet.

Well, one of my favorite authors of all time is Edgar Allan Poe, and his works have left a really strong impression on my mind. The work I’m referring to here is “The Tell-Tale Heart”.

The story is about a paranoid man who claims to be able to hear everything. He goes nucking futs and kills his landlord because the poor guy’s huge eye scares the fuck outta him. While talking with the police, his guilt gets the beter of him, in the form of a still-beating heart. In the dead man’s body hidden beneath the floor.

This episode of Higurashi is almost similar to that story. It started near the end of 11, and continues on at 12, and quite probaly 13, too. Keiichi, finally killing Houjou Teppei, is losing it. He becomes paranoid, and when Takano finds him, he loses it. During school the next day, his conscience slowly gets the better of him. He doesn’t act like his normal self and when he realizes he KILLED THE WRONG MAN, he slowly loses it. He tries to find the murder weapon to confirm he didn’t kill, but he does not, thereby going nucking futs.

Which leads into our dramatic confession. Kei’s guilty conscience gets the better of him, and he confesses to Irie, who thinks Kei’s gone psycho. Kei loses it again, thinking he murdered Takano, and, to put it in Poe terms, “tears up the floorboards”. Of course, Oishii’s there with a few men and beats some sense into our murderer. However, the hole’s empty. (You wacky Japanese, you’ve got it all mixed up!)

At the end of this episode, we are presented with questions.

If Keiichi killed Teppei, then who’s been abusing poor Satoko? Sure, Teppei is capable of raping Satoko, but I don’t think Teppei’s that kind of guy. He may be a bit of a dick, but I can’t see him sticking his p0n0s into a little girl. In defense of Houjou Teppei, his hostily has to come from some place. Maybe it has to do with that one-handed statue we see in episode 6? And as to who raped Satoko, my gut feeling says Irie. Looks can be deceiving, and Irie is capable of hoodwinking us all.

Is the city of Hinamizawa full of demon hybrids? Well, there could have been some of them in the hamlet. And probably the Immortal Reincarnator himself, Roa. Well, something has to explain Ciel’s presence in Hinamizawa… and no, I don’t think curry was involved. If you look closely, there are a few homages to Tsukihime (ENGLISH PATCH COMING SOON). Not just certain elements, but also certain themes, though 07th Expansion don’t have such a talented writer to emulate Nasu.

Is Keiichi plum fucking wacko? Yes. Blame Irie.

Oh, and Hakuoro is not Rak Shine, no matter how awesome the dire mace is as a weapon.

Moving on… I'll be skipping the highlights of this episode. Instead, I'm gonna talk about Eruru's, um, bisexuality.

It's pretty obvious she has a terminal case of Hakuoroitis. The mere hint of mentioning him makes poor Eruru go into a tizzy. However, Judging her expressions on this episode (and quite possibly, the eigth as well), it is very clear poor Eruru has a case of armpit fetish. And maybe she has a thing or females with huge funbags, too. Frst Urutori, then Karura… … Don't tell me she'll jump on the chance to rape Kamyu, Touka and Yuzuha too. By Zeus, Eruru is really horny. In the worst possible way. If I were Hakuoro, I'd be posting guards outside every female room. For good reason. And maybe rope in Oboro bin Laden, Bishiewi, Kurou of the Naked Fist and Dori and Gura to pull off patrol duties, just to make sure Eruru doesn't rape the females and violate their armpits.

Speaking of armpits, Karura's are really nice.
