Hey. Let’s not over-complicate things, and let’s not over-simplify things.
I’ll be honest and call anime blogs for what they are: Cheerleaders for anime titles that seem to do well in only one area; Asia.
(And yet the people over in Bandai Visual had said it: “Anime’s not even that big in Japan.”)
I was there when history stared somewhere in the late ’90s. The blogging of anime was mainly out of love for said anime. But then reality had struck: We’re all human beings who have opinions. And so, the great flamewars and namecalling had began.
If someone wanted to end it right now; the only way to do it is to find a way to shut off all internet and wi-fi lines of the world. This ain’t a bunch of friends you meet at some mall or university anymore. It’s basically the whole wide world.
And the most saddening thing about it is that there are people like me who are past their 30s and DO have a job and a life. Impz’s use of Genshiken (one of the more overrated pieces of animated garbage btw) does not represent the true anime fandom as a whole. …that much.
