Crackdowns? Sure, let’s do it Hitler-style. round them all up into concentration camps and kill them all? Still want more? let’s implement a policed Internets! People who even say “animé sucks” gets waterboarded, tortured and assassinated!

Because the only way to enforce anything is through the killing of innocents. Until you want to do that, you can’t do jack shit about human nature.

Really, people, don’t you get it? Japan looks like it wants to destroy the R1 industry forever. And snatch the money out of the people’s pockets. Directly.

And as for Japanese prices? They can get away with consumer rape because they already have the domestic market locked up! They think they can do the same in America because there is a small amount of IDIOTS who think buying DVDs will save the industry back in Japan!

It doesn’t work that way, folks. Japan can sustain that industry for a while longer, but in the end, we’ll see a catastrophic meltdown of all things Japan. They’re doing themselves in with their inane business tactics and cultural hypocrisy.

You’re still welcome to buy as many DVDs as you think. It won’t help. At all. In war, it’s not just the frontline units that are important, but also the supply lines, communications, pretty much all the support systems that keep the frontline units focused on what they do best: Fight the enemy. And in this case, the supply lines are beginning to fray, communications are breaking down, the entire support superstructure is slowly going down. Would-be animators are shunning animation jobs for creator-type jobs because of the lousy pay, sweatshop conditions and the bleak future of not having enough to eat. Seiyuu (Voice Actresses/Actors) are forced to be either multi-talented or take part-time jobs or take undesirable jobs to make ends meet. And the creative team ain’t doing much better, either.

You people make me sick.
