I am extremely appalled at such behavior. Not only has a brother in Christ lieth about otaku, he hath shown no respect to the people of Japan, or their culture. He wise in his own conceit and hath made himself a fool in the eyes of the world.
Furthermore, he is putting forth a bad example for Christians everywhere by being prideful. Hast not the apostle Paul wrote, in Romans 12:16, “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.” The New International Version puts it more clearly: “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.”
What’s more, he has sinned against the LORD, for it is written:
Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. – Proverbs 16:5
An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. - Proverbs 21:4
One wonders why the Gospel is being ignored and Christianity being mocked. Is it not the fault of Christians like him, who do not heed the words of the Bible, and go forth and act like haughty fools? Let us learn from this and not repeat such a foolish mistake again.
