I has Shion =3
September 24, 2006
No, I’m not talking about Sonozaki Shion(though I would love to have her), I’m talking about my BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW COMPUTER!
Here’s the specs:
- Intel Core2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz
- ASUS P5W DH DDeluxe
- XFX XXX PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3
- Kingston 1GB (PC-5400) 667MHz DDR2-667
- Western Digital Caviar SATA2 250GB HDD
- Samsung SHS-182D 18×18x Dual Format Dual-Layer (Int/Black/Box) DVD-RW/RAM Writer
- Seventeam ST-420BKV 420W
- Currently running on: Windows XP Professional SP2 (I think)
Well, no keyboard and/or monitor as of yet, but I’ll get those as soon as budget permits :V.
And well, why the sudden purchase? It’s because I’m going back to polytechnic and I have to take Computer Animation (3D Animation) this semester. Also, I will be taking Creative Game Design. /o/ I rock. Now, while you computer junkies tell me this graphics card won’t do the job I want it to, the thing is, I’m on a bit of a budget, and there’s no way in Dante’s Inferno am I going to plonk down SGD$1000 for the proper card. So I’ll just make do with what I’ve got.
And now, off I go to ponder over how to install Linux.

[...] And it’s freakin sweet. It’s kind of weird how orz got his computer around the same time I didI actually got this yesterday, but it took me too long to transfer all of my files to new laptop from my old Sony Viao. I was using my two 1GB memory sticks with the File and Settings Trasnfer Wizard. Ah, such a pain. My new lappy is an Alienware. [...]

You, erm, got such a powerful com but suqeezed out the keyboard and mouse from your budget for it?…
But if pieces of news that I’m getting are true, 256mb videocard should be ok for animation. Supposedly there’s software that allows for it.

Well if you have such a nice computer, at least get a proper monitor to support those high-rate graphics.

Nice purchases. the part on you doing it for animation is bullshit though. I think the card’s more than good enough – I’m only running on geforce 6400 i think.
