Good Lord, I’ve had enough of people bitching how Fate/Stay Night is crap.

This is ticking me off.
People are complaining how disappointing Fate/Stay Night is. Or how Fate/Stay Night sucks. And somesuch advice. And no, this is not the TYPE-MOON fan speaking in me. Hell, this has (almost) nothing to do with fanboyism.(Okay, this article is going to be a bit biased. So sue me.)
So you say Fate/Stay Night is disappointing. In comparison to what? Haruhi? Ouran? Higurashi?(Okay, bad choice here. Takeuchi apparently did some character design work for the game.) My bet is that it's gonna compare to that show about that stupid bitch with the God-like personality and her merry fucking friends. And why? Because Half of fucking Japan (and subsequently, a good percentage of Western Anime Fans) worships her? Isn't the collective opinion better than the individual?
HELL FUCKING NO.
That comparison is invalid. Haruhi is the heavyweight of the novel-turned-anime series, Fate is the heavyweight of the visual novel-turned-anime series. Even though both series cover roughly the same ground, they tell it in completely different ways. Jesus, isn't it that hard to see that?
Now, in Haruhi's defense, I shall say a few words. Ito Noizi is YOUR NEW GOD (after Yuu Wastase and Takashi Takeuchi, but between Carnelian, Ken Akamatsu, and Sasaki Shonen), the story is good, the animation is amazingly fluid, and that ED is too damn catchy for it's own good. And hell, it's interesting. I'll admit to that.
But does that make me a drooling Haruhi ZERGLING? By any means, no. It just cannot be done. I do not live in a country where God, for the most part, does not exist as one omnipotent being, nor am I one who is easily swayed. Let's face it, Haruhi is one annoying bitch, and should that be a lie, let her strike me where I am right now.
But back to Fate. Does it suck, by any means? In some places, yes. That OP is so goddamed spoileriffic it'll put most anime bloggers to shame, the damn references Nasu is ramming down into the new fans' throats is just unbearable, and well, let's face it. Nasu's had a Lucas moment. Must be that influx of money.
Even then, it still doesn't put me off my fix of Saber, Rin and their merry friends. And why? For the very reason that Fate is a hell lot more interesting that Haruhi. Nasu's a damnded good writer, and not many people can write like him. He has his shortcomings, is most likely a lolicon, and remember that Lucas moment. I sure hope he snaps out of it, or I might just start petitioning for him to start on Hazakuda Romantic. Yes, THE BOY'S LOVE GAME FROM engage, TYPE-MOON'S SHONEN-AI SUBSIDARY.Maybe it'll scar him back to his senses. Hell, Mushishi's a whole lot more interesting than Haruhi, and it's slightly over a year old.
And as for you damnded Knights of Haruhi, GET OFF MY LAWN. I WILL NOT SWEAR MY ALLEGIANCE TO THAT ANNOYING BITCH YOU WORSHIP.

Hmm… strong words in favor of Fate. I don’t think many people say it’s disappointing in relation to current shows so much as what they expected from it. FSN isn’t exactly “hey, let’s compare it to Haruhi- because those two shows are the end all be all of anime.” I am disappointed with Fate, and less disappointed with Haruhi, for the simple reason that I was expecting more of Fate than I was of Haruhi. I loved Shingetsutan Tsukihime, and was expecting a show with equal or greater “power”. FSN has done nothing for me. There were a few facial expressions for Saber that made me go “ooo!!” and take a screencap, but aside from that…
…it had a couple cool fight scenes. But most of the scenes with huge potential ended up having poor animation. Most of Saber fighting is still frame panning over a really well-drawn image of her slicing. Yes, the art’s nice, and the story is nice, but in terms of the power conveyed by the content of the anime, there’s nothing.
Most anime that had power for me (Tsukihime, AIR, Saikano, kannamiko) were depressing or had some kind of really intense romance that did something psychological to me. Very few anime have been able to have power without that- er, in fact ONE: Naruto. And that anime’s power disappeared after episode 19 when it started sucking.
FSN’s fight and story have no power. It has no depression or impact. It has no comedy. What’s good about it? I guess it’s a huge hunk of fanservice to fans of the game. WOOT! We can see our favorite characters animated now.
Crap? Not in comparison to stuff like Rizelmine. But good? Hardly. Better than Haruhi? We’ll need to finish both to make a judgement.

I think I see your point.
Then again, I have some pretty low standards, considering the crap I put up with that is called “Entertainment” on TV.
Strong words, yes, I already said the article was biased from the start.

Either way, there are valid arguments that hundreds if not thousands of disappointed anticipators of the FSN anime could put forth. Your thoughts on the matter aside, not all FSN-haters can be put into the same group, nor shut up uniformly.
Btw, just noticed your “bitching” category tag… wow. I lol’d.

[...] I didn’t like how Caster and Kuzuki died. It was not a jot dramatic. Caster and Kuzuki are not bad people perse; they have their own agenda and means. Caster has her own dreams and wishes, and her passing should not be a simple “oh noes triple penetration from golden boy.” I recently explained one of my qualms with FSN in a comment on drmschsr0’s post about FSN-hating. Power. That’s right. Her death had no power. Nothing involving her had power. Her greatest contribution in making the show better was fighting Rider and getting some really nice fanservice out of it. As for Kuzuki? Eh… he just seemed like to good a person to simply die like that. Sure, it was a fitting and in character for him to go quietly like that, but so what? It sure as hell didn’t add anything to the show. [...]

More like many people don’t have brains of their own. One person says, “It sucks.” The others think, “Hey, I’d love to be indifferent too! It’s cool!” Then you have a tonne of people bitching about how Fate sucks.
To prove my point, let’s just have one or two popular aniblogs state in big, black, bold letters “Haruhi SUCKS!” Within a week, Haruhi-hating posts will flood the aniblog community. Most anibloggers are dumbasses.

Forgot to add, Ito Noizi has been my god since I set my eyes on Shana. Heh. But many people don’t give a damn to character designers. Dumbasses.

… one or two popular anime blogs HAVE in fact done this. It’s been weeks and nothing major’s happened.

[...] I mentioned Mushishi in my 'anti-Haruhi' bitchfest, and well, it's true. Mushishi is much better than Haruhi and her merry friends. Lesee here…people have gone indepth about the story, Jason has suggested that he gets his clothes via time paradoxes, so what can I add, hrm. [...]

no comment on your views about Fate – but I must agree about Haruhi. I don’t understand what’s so attractive about her? Do men want a sexy bitch to be their god(dess) so badly that they would pretend her bitchy personality is inexistent?
Face the truth, guys, if Haruhi did create the world 3 years ago (almost 5 years ago now), lots of people (including me) would have (successfully) attempted suicide.
